Don’t allow clutter to weigh on you and your home. Remove all clutter, get rid of all distractions that cause stress and move the buyers attention to what’s important. Parting with belongings is often difficult, but think of the new opportunities are creating for yourself and the buyer. After all, both of you are on a similar journey – a new start.
Bathrooms and kitchens need to be presented immaculately. Take everything off counter tops except for some decorative items. Clean your mirrors and windows, using newspaper instead of paper towel for extra shine. Close the toilet lids and have new rolls of paper in all the bathrooms. Dark areas of the house should be softly illuminated to create the aura of comfort and spaciousness. Save the closets for last. Do organize them – if they’re crammed and cluttered, they shout that the space might be too small.
For last minute touches, consider cleaning or fixing obvious scratches and marks on the walls, lightly spraying your favorite scent and putting out fresh flowers.
